The City of Newberry will be observing Memorial Day, a day of remembrance for those who have served our nation. In honor of this, all government offices, excluding emergency services, will be closed on Monday, May 26th, 2025.
While offices may be closed, residents can still make bill payments through the City’s phone system at 352-472-2161 or online (click here). As always, you can contact us 24/7 for any needs at 352-472-2161 ext 1 or by using the Newberry FL Connect app. Outages may be reported online (click here) or over the phone.
Garbage and Recycling Collection:
The holiday will affect curbside residential solid waste and recycling collection services scheduled for Monday (May 26th), in the Newberry curbside collection area. Services will be delayed by one day. Monday's collection will occur on Tuesday, Tuesday's collection will occur on Wednesday, Wednesday's collection will occur on Thursday, Thursday's collection will occur on Friday, and Friday's collection will occur on Saturday.
The regular collection schedule will resume on Monday, June 2nd, 2025.

Veteran's Memorial Dedication
The City of Newberry is proud to honor our local heroes with the unveiling of the NEW Newberry Veterans Memorial at Lois Forte Park! Over 430 personalized bricks have been sold to recognize and commemorate the service and sacrifice of veterans in our community.

This special event will feature a Dedication Ceremony with guest speakers including Jordan Marlowe, Commissioner Mark Clark, and former State Representative Debbie Boyd. The Oak View Middle School Symphonic Band and Newberry High School Band will provide a heartfelt musical tribute, and Josh Taylor will perform a special performance.
We invite the entire community to join us in this moment of remembrance, gratitude, and unity. Let’s unite to honor those who have served and celebrate this meaningful addition to our city.
