The Building Safety Department is committed to providing exceptional service for all facets of building, roofing, mechanical, electrical plumbing, and fire safety plan reviews and inspections. Our primary mission is to safeguard the public, promote the health, safety and welfare of the City of Newberry, its citizens, visitors and business owners through the fair enforcement of the Florida Building Code, National Electric Code, and the Florida Fire Prevention Code. We consider each construction project a partnership between the city, owners, design professionals and contractors as we work to provide the best possible outcome for all involved.

- We now have IMPACT FEES at the City of Newberry. Ordinance No. 2023-14, was adopted on Aug. 14th 2023 by the city commission. It has a 5 year schedule to help our citizens and contractors adjust, and became effective on 11/27/2023.

CONTRACTORS:
To ensure your licensing attaches with your PORTAL ACCOUNT, email buildingdepartment@newberryfl.gov. Email must include the following information:
Your Name
Your Company Name
A mobile phone number
Your email address
A copy of your state licensing, liability insurance, and workers compensation insurance.
We will then send you an ACCESS code to merge you with your CONTRACTOR account.
