The Department of Community Development plays a pivotal role in shaping the urban landscape of the City of Newberry.

The Community Development Department administers a variety of processes ranging from the Newberry Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Regulations to the Capital Planning Program, and Intergovernmental programs.

2023 Historic Resource Survey

The City of Newberry, through the assistance of a small matching grant from the Florida Division of Historic Resources, has updated its historic resource survey. This document is a compendium of historic properties that document their architectural typology, character, craftsmanship, age, and other intangible assets such as association with historic events, people, and other cultural or societal significance.
