City Clerk Duties
The City Clerk’s Office is defined by Article VI Sec. 26 of the City Charter. The City Clerk's Office is dedicated to providing an array of quality services to the public. Some of the services include:
- Clerk to the City Commission
- Preparation of the minutes for City Commission meetings
- Codifying and recording all ordinances and resolutions adopted by the City Commission
- Custodian of the City Seal
- Custodian of Public Records
- Responding to public records requests
- Maintenance of records retention for city documents as required by law
- Recording of legal documents; including deeds, contracts, liens, mortgages, and promissory notes at Alachua County Public Records
- Supervision and administration of city elections
- Processing property lien search certificates
- Validating local business tax receiptsÂ
- Notary services

The 2024 City of Newberry Municipal Election is scheduled for April 9, 2024.Â

Commission Meetings
Commission Meetings are held the second and fourth Monday of every month, unless otherwise specified. They are held at City Hall in the Commission Chambers at 7:00 pm.Â
