City Clerk, Judy Rice:

Judy Rice has served the City of Newberry for over 33 years in various positions. In 1997, she was sworn in as Deputy Clerk and served as Finance Director from 2002 to 2012 before being appointed as the City Clerk in October 2012. Judy obtained the Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation in 2008 and the Florida Certified Records Manager (FCRM) designation in 2016. In 2019, she received the highest accomplishment of Master Municipal Clerk (MMC). In 2022, Judy was awarded the Certified Supervisor Manager (CSM) designation from the Florida Center for Public Management, Florida State University; and completed the program in 2023 to achieve the Certified Public Manager (CPM) designation. She is an active member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, Florida Association of City Clerks, Alachua County City Clerks Association, Florida Records Management Association, and the Florida Government Finance Officers Association. In addition, Judy served on the Florida League of Cities Utilities, Natural Resources and Public Works Legislative Policy Committee for five years, 2016 - 2021.
