Property Lien Search

The City of Newberry’s Lien Search includes building permits, code violations, planning assessments/liens, and utility information.

Response to the inquiry is between 3 to 10 workdays. City Hall is closed on Fridays.

Interested parties such as title companies, banks, mortgage companies, and individuals can request the City to check its records for outstanding liens, fines, and fees against a property.

For a fee of $50.00, the City will search its records and report any liens that appear as well as any other known outstanding charges or assessments against the property.

Mail or hand deliver the request along with payment (cash, check, or money order) made payable to the City of Newberry to:

Please note that the City reserves the right to release the results of the lien search contingent on bank clearance of payments made by check.
