The census provides vital information for you and your community. Census data determines the number of state representatives in Congress and is used to redraw district boundaries. It is used by communities to plan infrastructure projects, schools, emergency services, and more. Data from the census provides the basis for distributing more than $675 billion in federal funds annually to communities across the country to support vital programs - impacting housing, education, transportation, employment, health care, and public policy ( an estimated $7 trillion over the next decade).
