The following items are excluded from the City’s refuse collection program. Residents are responsible for proper disposal of these items. If there are any questions or concerns, please reach out to the Public Works & Utilities Office at 352-472-2161 Ext 2.

  • Tires
  • Lead-acid (automotive type) batteries.
  • Fluorescent light bulbs.
  • Solvents, paints, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids.
  • Pharmaceuticals, prescription drugs, and over the counter drugs.
  • Dead animals
  • Yard waste or recycle materials intermixed with garbage.
  • Yard waste exceeding the size requirements.
  • Yard wastes generated by tree surgeons, landscape maintenance contractors, or other commercial enterprises.
  • Construction wastes and remodeling demolition debris.

Alternative disposal options:

  • Waste Pro may be willing to collect these items for an additional fee. Please contact Waste Pro at (386) 462-2500 if you wish to obtain a price quotation
