City Offices Closed for Thanksgiving

Other than emergency services, all City of Newberry government offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday (November 25, and November 26, 2021), in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Customers wishing to make a bill payment over the holiday weekend can do so through the utility’s telephone system at 352-472-2161 or online (click here). As always you can contact us 24/7 for any needs at 352-472-2161 extension 1. Outages may be reported online (click here) or over the phone. 

Garbage and Recycling Collection:

The Thanksgiving holiday will not affect curbside residential solid waste and recycling collection services scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday in the Newberry curbside collection area. Thursday and Friday services will be delayed one day. For Thanksgiving week, Thursday's collection will occur on Friday, and Friday's collection will occur on Saturday. The regular collection schedule will resume on Monday, November 29th.

Food Drive

The city is accepting donations of non-perishable food items for donation to local families in need. If you would like to make a donation, please drop off your non-perishable items at any city office.
