Alachua County Burn Ban Extended Through May 8th

Burn Ban Extended Through May 8th in Alachua County

The burn ban has been extended for Alachua County through May 8th, 2026.

Our area continues to experience very dry conditions, and wildfire risk remains extremely high. Alachua County is currently one of the driest counties in the state, with KBDI levels continuing to rise—11% of the county has now reached the highest range (701–800), indicating dangerous fire conditions.

Outdoor burning remains prohibited, including:

  • Campfires & bonfires
  • Yard debris or trash burning
  • Unpermitted burns
  • Construction debris
  • Fireworks

We know this can be inconvenient, but these measures are in place to help protect our community, our neighbors, and our first responders. Thank you for doing your part to keep Newberry safe.

We will continue to share updates as conditions change.
